            Applicants for this program are disqualified if convicted of a “particularly serious crime.”[117]  A single misdemeanor is not considered to be a “particularly serious crime,” absent unusual circumstances.[118]  Therefore, reduction of a felony to a misdemeanor would aid the noncitizen in qualifying for this relief.
