(A)  Listed Offenses.  This section will focus on each of the specific offenses included within the domestic violence conviction deportation ground.  This deportation ground generally includes any conviction falling within its definition, regardless whether it is a felony or misdemeanor and regardless of sentence.  Therefore, this deportation ground is potentially very broad, triggering deportation for noncitizens convicted of minor misdemeanor offenses in cases in which no custody whatsoever was imposed.

            This deportation ground lists five categories of offense, including convictions of crimes of:

            (i) domestic violence;

            (ii) stalking;

            (iii) child abuse;

            (iv) child neglect; or

            (v) child abandonment.

Aside from these conviction-based grounds of removal, the domestic violence removal statute includes a civil or criminal court finding that a noncitizen has violated a family law protective order as a ground of removal (even if there is no conviction).  See § 7.158, infra. [1132]

[1132] INA § 237(a)(2)(E)(ii), 8 U.S.C. § 1227(a)(2)(E)(ii).
