If the offenses are connected together in their commission, it may help to get some indication on the criminal court record that both offenses were committed pursuant to a single scheme of criminal misconduct, although the immigration court will independently determine under its own standard whether the two offenses were committed pursuant to a “single scheme” of criminal misconduct.
