(B) Obtain Offense With Maximum of One Year or Less. If a plea can be entered to an offense with a maximum possible sentence of one year or less, the conviction would be considered to be a misdemeanor under the federal definition, since a felony in federal court is defined as an offense with a maximum sentence in excess of one year.
