(C) Solutions to Inadmissibility. The safe havens that avoid a conviction will also avoid all three conviction-based grounds of inadmissibility, which contain the two most common and important ones: convictions of crimes of moral turpitude and controlled substances convictions. The conduct-based grounds of inadmissibility do not have “safe havens” that are attainable in criminal court, since they are based on conduct, rather than convictions. Relief in immigration court can also avoid inadmissibility. See Chapter 24, infra.
