Safe Havens
§ 5.43 b. Examine Relevant Grounds
For more text, click "Next Page>"
Once possibly relevant grounds of deportation have been identified, they should be examined closely to determine whether the proposed conviction (or the conduct established by the proposed conviction) falls within one of these additional grounds of deportability. Appendix A provides a good starting point by quoting the relevant language of the immigration statute. Chapter 7 provides additional suggestions concerning safe havens for each ground of deportation. Other research aids, such as Kurzban[79] and Gordon,[80] should be consulted, and the relevant statutory annotations should also be examined as necessary.
