(D) Statutory Rape. Because of the realities of teenage sex, it is possible to argue that statutory rape, which may involve consensual sex between someone just past 18 years old with someone just shy of their 18th birthday, is not necessarily sexual abuse of a minor. See § 5.76, infra.
