Criminal Defense of Immigrants

A great deal has been written about the general process of entry of a plea of guilty or its equivalent.[104]  A judicial checklist for entry of a plea in federal court may be illustrative. [105]  Professor Herman has offered a checklist of counsel’s tasks in preparation for entry of a plea. [106]  This discussion, however, will focus on aspects of entry of a plea that have a special significance for noncitizen defendants.
