(A) In General. One issue is the extent to which defense counsel is required to advise the defendant concerning the specific (as opposed to the merely possible) adverse immigration consequences of the plea. See § 2.39, supra, § 8.46(B), infra, and Chapter 2 generally. The next question is the extent to which the court must do so. See § 8.46(D).
