In addition to the normal medical information relevant to the criminal case counsel will normally seek, it is important to be aware of important aspects of the client’s mental and physical health that may be different from that of U.S. citizen clients.  For example, many immigrant clients may suffer more from depression or post-traumatic stress disorder than most clients because of difficult experiences they had outside the United States.  They may also have suffered from more malnutrition, disease, and environmental toxins than is commonly experienced in the United States.  See § 3.62, infra.
