(D)  Counsel’s Role.  It is very important for counsel to explain counsel’s role to the client, including counsel’s duty of loyalty and confidentiality, since the client may never have experienced or heard of such a thing before, and may not trust counsel’s ability or willingness to keep the client’s secrets.
