(C)  Becoming Eligible for Relief.  Although the discussion of different forms of relief, and how one becomes eligible for them, is beyond the scope of this book,[2] a client may be able to avoid deportation if s/he is able to argue that the identified safe haven at least avoids a finding that s/he is an aggravated felon, and thus makes the client eligible for some form of relief from removal in immigration court.  If the client is able to apply for, and is granted, some form of relief, this is a victory for the client.
