Non-Immigrant Visas. A person applying for a temporary, non-immigrant visa, such as a tourist visa, can apply under INA § 212(d)(3)(A) for a discretionary waiver of any inadmissibility ground (except the terrorist/security grounds). This waiver may also be applied to aggravated felons, and those previously deported as aggravated felons. This waiver is useful to those who are inadmissible for various reasons, and may have been previously deported, but wish only to visit the United States temporarily.
