Alien Smuggling.  A person inadmissible for alien smuggling can apply for a discretionary waiver if the only person smuggled was (at the time) a spouse, parent, son or daughter.[533]  The applicant must be a returning permanent resident or a person immigrating through a family member.  A deportable permanent resident can apply for a waiver under the same conditions.[534]
