(B) Immigration Consequences. The immigration consequences of both parts of the domestic violence deportation ground are identical. See § 22.4, infra. They are not as damaging as those of other categories of crimes, and it is common for a noncitizen with a domestic violence conviction to have some sort of relief available in immigration court even if the conviction does trigger deportation. See § 22.7, infra. While the immigration consequences may not be too severe, this ground of deportation covers even very minor criminal offenses and these offenses are very common. If no relief from deportation is available, deportation can be just as certain as for an aggravated felony.
