Post-Conviction Relief for Immigrants

To obtain information on a client who has applied for one of the immigration amnesty programs, call the Western Service Center (formerly the Regional Processing Center) in Los Angeles.  Have the client’s “A number” ready and have the client present and ready to speak on the phone with the official if necessary.  Ask the current status of the client’s case.  Or, send a FOIA request to the Western Service Center marked “Confidential — Legalization Application.”  In other areas of the country, counsel should contact other service centers.  Immigration attorneys in your area can tell you where to apply.
