Petty Offense Exception to Inadmissibility for One Crime of Moral Turpitude. A reduction from felony to misdemeanor can reduce the maximum possible sentence from a greater state prison sentence to one year in the county jail, enabling an immigrant to qualify for this exception if the other requirements are met. See § 9.5, supra.
