Misdemeanor Conviction.  One or more misdemeanor convictions can also trigger adverse immigration consequences.  For example, misdemeanor convictions will disqualify the immigrant from obtaining the benefits of the Family Unity Program (two misdemeanors), the Legalization Program (three misdemeanors), the Special Agricultural Workers Legalization Program (three misdemeanors), and Temporary Protected Status (two misdemeanors).  See generally § 9.7, infra.
