Reasons for Dismissal. The standards for granting dismissals under Penal Code § 1385 are somewhat technical, and appellate courts will frequently reverse dismissals made without an adequate statement of reasons entered on the minutes, see § 6.74, infra, or upon grounds they find improper. See § § 6.67-6.68, infra. Counsel should use as many grounds previously held proper as possible, see § 6.68, infra, and ask the court to make favorable findings of fact on which to base the order.
