(B)  Crimes of Moral Turpitude.[225]

Convictions of soliciting commission of a sexual offense are sometimes held to involve moral turpitude.  However, these are old cases, and there is an argument that solicitation to commit a CMT, although arguably a CMT, is not grounds for inadmissibility or removal.  See § 7.12, supra.

Matter of Cassisi, 10 I. & N. Dec. 136 (BIA 1963) (crime of encouraging abortion not a crime involving moral turpitude).

[225] See N. Tooby, J. Rollin & J. Foster, Crimes of Moral Turpitude § 9.84 (2005).
